Mr. Brian Butko

This course is held at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District.  In this course, students will look at articles, books, documents, oral histories, museum labels, press releases, and other written works for how they can be improved and presented to a broad audience. Methods include proofreading, editing, rewriting, and critically thinking about how to communicate clearly and concisely, skills that can be applied to many other situations. Samples are worked on in class, and written assignments give experience with each aspect.
