DWYER, John J. (University of Illinois), Assistant Professor of History. Dr. Dwyer joined the Department in the fall of 2001 and brings a wealth of teaching experience to Duquesne. He has taught Latin American, U.S., and world history at Ohio University, the University of Utah and the University of California - San Diego. In addition to the core, he teaches courses on Latin American and Mexican history, Inter-American relations, and modern revolutionary movements. As a former Fulbright fellow, his research interests include the study of peasant agency, revolution, state-building, and diplomacy. He has published several articles and is working on a book about agrarian reform in Mexico and U.S.-Mexican relations during the 1930s.
