MILLER, Laura E.
A 2002 graduate of Duquesne's undergraduate Theatre Arts program, Laura left Pittsburgh to pursue a modeling and acting career in Chicago in September of 2002. In August of 2004, she returned to Pittsburgh to begin working on a master's degree in Literature here at Duquesne, which she is still pursuing. Her research interests include British eighteenth-century studies, with an emphasis on the intersections between gender, performance, and the theatre. Laura will be presenting some of her work at Masculinities, Femininities and More: An Interdisciplinary Conference on Gender in the Humanities at the University of West Georgia, November 6-8, 2008.

She joined the staff of the History Department full-time in July of 2005. Anyone who has questions about the History Department, its programs, its procedures, or its faculty, can come see Laura. She enjoys meeting and chatting with the students and their friends and families, and she is honored to have been associated with Duquesne since her arrival freshman year in 1997. She happily responds to her nickname: Jane Duquesne. She hopes you'll stop by and say hello!
