PARSONS, Jotham. (Johns Hopkins University), Assistant Professor of History. Specializing in the history of early modern France, Dr. Parsons teaches undergraduate courses in Western Civilization, “Crime and Criminality in Early Modern Europe,” legal and political theory, and Europe in the Middle Ages and Early Modern era. Joining the Department in 2003, he has taught at the University of Delaware and Roosevelt University. Here at Duquesne, he teaches the undergraduate methods course, “Writing History.” Dr. Parsons has published articles in the foremost journals in his field, and his book, The Church and the Republic: Gallicanism and Political Ideology in Renaissance France, was published by Catholic University Press.
